My little Lance Armstrong

Today was a big day for Keegan. It started yesterday with his grandma asking him to go on a bike ride with her (on vacation all week). From that conversation, a simple bike ride, turned into an adventure.

Frank and Keegan made certain his bike was tuned up and his tires were aired up. We had his helmet all ready and his shoes next to his bike when he woke up this morning. We even gave him "power" jelly beans incase he got tired. So, grandma and grandpa rode over here (they live in the neighborhood) and picked Keegan up on his bike...they were riding to lunch.

Keegan told me how he ran over a snake and didn't kill it. They took the I&M canal trail from Channahon to Morris...stopping on the way to throw rocks into the river and find rocks. I hear they had a picnic in Morris and headed back. Needless to say, they left at 9: 30a.m. and got back at 2:30 p.m. (no nap). yep, 20 miles, a 4 year old rode his bike. Some might call it child abuse, but if you saw how happy this kid was the entire time, you would call it living a dream. He loves riding his bike.

California highlight

I did it, I took both kids to California!
We had a great time...travel was smooth with both kids, and i didn't have to use any drugs.
Nana, was happy to see us all, as were we.
We spent our first day in Santa Cruz on the beach/boardwalk. Keegan bought a boogie board to surf with. He thought that by just standing on the edge of the water that a wave would come in and he would surf. Tanner just loved running from the waves. We had a great day.

the second day, Keegan and I toured the Jelly Belly factory down the road from my mom's house. It was a date. we got to sample lots of jelly beans. Than Keegan took me out to lunch. we had a great day together, as Tanner and Nana, played out back with flour and water and pots and pans. that night we took Papa Neil's boat out on the delta for a cruise to dinner. the ride put Tanner to sleep, and Keegan co-captained.

We went shopping a day, and even went to China Town. Keegan does not like China town and does not like to shop.

we had a great vacation. Frank was ready for us to be home, as we all were glad to be back home safe and sound.

Looking for my prince

the princess is looking for her prince. Tanner and Keegan were in the back yard, making a "frog habitat" for all the frogs we rescued from our window well. She insisted to find the perfect prince by kissing each and every frog (8 total).

she also insisted on not letting her prince go, but to bring it in the house for the night. Wicked queen told her princes, there will be no frogs/princes in the house after dark.

we set her prince free...he'll be back in about 25 years.
